“In all things there is a wonderful imbalance, an ebb and flow, a proportion. … Imbalance allows us to move forward. It’s the back and forth, the yin and the yang, always moving, changing, alive.” This is one of my many favorite quotes from ONLY for NOW, found on page 62.
I have always felt a surreal yet practical quality to the teaching of the yin and the yang, something that could be a part of accepting and understanding life. However, I’ve never offered myself the opportunity to dive deeply into its essence and implementation. ONLY for NOW gave me a deep look into the teaching through a unique lens, life of a young man who embodied this principle, Stephen Rinaldi. Not only was I captivated by the energy and power of the telling of the story, I was engrossed in what I was learning for life and about myself from the story. I felt like it gave both entertainment and deep, meaningful life lessons in just 173 pages. I was drawn into the main character’s life, intensely felt the dissonance of the climax, was brought to a deeper understanding of life, and was left wanting more at the story’s close. These are all the elements that make a story worth reading to me, and I believe Stephen Rinaldi’s story is worth reading!

"I've spent the last few days of my summer vacation on the beach embroiled in a wonderful book. I don't think I have ever felt like I've read anything so slowly before, cherishing every word, yet at the same time devouring the book so quickly. It is such a well written work of art. Part of me embarrassed that it has taken me this long to break its cover. I just finished the last page with a tear rolling down my face during the 2nd to last paragraph. The words of the book touch me like the music I have heard from your soul. I thought I always knew you well... but so many more doors were just opened by that book my old friend. I am looking forward to getting back in the classroom next week... to all the new Jenny's walking through my door." KH

This book came first... then ONLY for NOW, the 9-movement suite for a large extended band, then finally all of the Music, a small part of which has been called STORMWORKS. This book marks the beginning! ONLY for NOW is a young adult novel with a simple message... "growing up" need not mean "giving in".
